After almost 6 hours by train (find out the article here) to admire the landscapes given by Swedish Lapland, I arrived in Abisko (Östra). Like last time, I arrived at 3:53 pm.

This time, upon arrival, I didn’t take any photos but headed quickly to the hostel. One reason was that it was full of tourists who got off the train. As there aren’t many accommodations in this village, I didn’t want to queue at check-in so it was better to speed up (between snow and ice) the pace :D
So, here I propose again the shot I took the last time: even if dark, really, it was not yet 4 pm :)
How many nights to see the Northern Lights?
Having placed the luggage in the hostel, it was time for some relaxation in preparation for the evening/night outside in the hope of seeing the Northern Lights. I realized that I still haven’t written that I stayed here for 3 nights. It would have been better, to be safer, to stay more nights (at least 5) but the journey had to continue and I couldn’t stay longer. Waiting for me was the boarding of the fjord post in Kirkenes on January 22, that is, only a week later. Less if you consider the date of departure from Abisko.
Abisko: best place in the world to spot the Northern Lights?
Both the first and second night I saw flashes of northern lights while the third night nothing. Like last time, I was told that the night before my arrival, it was striking. It was not a problem because I was confident in the next stages of the journey, in any case in Lapland (Norwegian). The doubt could have been there since, years ago, I had read that Abisko is one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights. Well, actually, albeit slightly, I spotted her :D

The evenings/nights with your head upwards waiting for the Northern Lights, but how does it work during the day? First of all, the day starts quite late because you need to recover the strength spent in the cold and freezing night. But not too late because the hours of light are few and therefore you risk not seeing/photographing/filming anything :)
When you are here, the program includes the inevitable walk to/in the Abisko National Park.

This time, I decided to also try the new action camera with the possibility of 360° video. It was the first time I used it during the trip and therefore the debut with the cold will have suffered a bit :D
I remember that, given the low temperatures, the battery did not have such a high autonomy. Fortunately, higher than that of the mobile phone in the Rovaniemi stage :D
There was that sense of tranquility and pure nature interspersed with blasts of wind and, finally, views of snowy and frozen waterfalls (as you saw in the previous video).
There are countless paths that are used as trekking routes especially in the summer.
Train direction Narvik
After the 3 nights of this stage, together with my trusty luggage, I walked towards the Abisko (Östra) station to take the train direction Narvik (find out the article here). A part of the journey that started in Sweden and ended in Norway.
