I moved to Lake Maggiore, in Ispra, where I would have my base for the following nights, after the first day dedicated to Maccagno (find out the article here), Luino (find out the article here) and Laveno (find out the article here), I decided to go and discover Angera and Arona :)

How to reach Angera?

From Ispra, I took the bus that took me to my destination. From there, then, the boat directly to Arona, another daily stop.

The plans change

I got off the bus and realized that the boat to Arona was leaving and I didn’t have a ticket yet. So I decided to buy the ticket and change the program. What do you mean? The answer is simple: I would have seen much of the city of Angera immediately and then concentrate on Arona.

First steps in Angera

I walked along Viale della Repubblica, passing the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Riva, also admiring the lime trees of the fishermen of Angera until I reached a few steps from the water of the lake.

Being the morning not yet advanced there was the problem of light haze and therefore the photos did not come out just as I wanted them. Patience :)

Center of Angera

Then I headed, between the city streets, towards the center and the area of the Provostal Church of S. Maria Assunta.

A few customary photos, a drop of water placed on the bench next to it and then restart in the direction of the landing stage so as not to miss the ferry towards Arona (find out the article here).

After this intense morning/early afternoon between the Piedmont and Lombardy shores of Lake Maggiore, I set off towards Ispra (find out the article here). the following day I would have dedicated some time to that village before returning to Milan as a base from where I would have successively reached Varese (find out the article here), Como (find out the article here) and Lecco (find out the article here).
