In this article I’ll tell you about the stop at the archaeological site of Palaiochora in Aegina during the journey to discover Greece and Turkey both with and without a cruise.

How to reach Aegina?

Between one day and another I also had the opportunity to meet Costa Venezia in Piraeus (find out the article here) before taking the ferry to move “From Athens to Aegina with Saronic Ferries” (find out the article here).

After landing on the island and the first steps in Aegina (Αίγινα) (find out the article here), the area of the Archaeological Museum (Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Αίγινας) where the Temple of Apollo (Ναός του Α) is located πόλλωνος) (find out the article here), the Church and the Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity (Ιερά Μονή Αγίας Τριάδος – Αγίου Νεκταρίου Αιγίνης) (find out the article here) I decided to reach this new attraction tourist 🙂

Among the churches of the archaeological site of Palaiochora

Climbing to the top of this very famous archaeological site, the aspect that remains most in the memories is the innumerable presence of churches: Church of the Holy Cross (Εκκλησία Τιμίου Σταυρού), ruins of the Church of Sant’Attanasio (Άγιος Αθανάσιος), Church of St. George (Ξωκλήσι Άγιος Γεωργιος), the Diocese of Dionysius (Επισκοπή Αγίου Διονυσίου), the Church of St. John Theologia (Άγιος Ιωάννης ο Θεολόγος), the Church of Saint Eleutherius (Άγιος Ελευθέριος) and the Monastery of Saint Kyriaki (Ιερά Μονή Αγίας Κυριακής) just to name a few!
