How to reach Bettembourg?
After starting the trip to Portugal with stops in Faro (find out the article here), Albufeira (find out the article here), Portimão (find out the article here), Lagos (find out the article here) and Coimbra (find out the article here), I took a flight from Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto towards Luxembourg. From the arrival airport the bus and then the train to get to Esch-sur-Alzette (find out the article here) Again by public transport I reached both Dudelange (find out the article here) and the following destination.
First steps in the city
I started the walk in the city in the Eglise Bettembourg area
and then continue to the area of the Beetebuerger Schlass, the city’s castle.

In Luxembourg, public transport has recently been free (apart from special cases such as first class on trains).
Furthermore, it should be remembered that Esch-sur-Alzette has been nominated, together with Novi Sad (Serbia) and Kaunas (Lithuania), European Capital of Culture 2022 (find out the article here).
