I dedicate this article to Esch-sur-Alzette 2022, European Capital of Culture together with Novi Sad (Serbia) and Kaunas (Lithuania).
To start getting an idea of the places and views that I was able to admire, I invite you to watch the video below containing the most significant images of this experience.
When did I discover Esch-sur-Alzette 2022?
Compared to the applications from other capitals that I discovered during my travels or once I returned home, this time, I went there on purpose because I knew that she had been chosen and I wanted to see how she had prepared for the party :)
How to reach Esch-sur-Alzette?
In my case, I comfortably reached Esch-sur-Alzette (find out the article here) by plane. Obviously there is also the possibility with other means such as the car, train or bus.
European Capitals of Culture
Around Europe I happened to visit other cities, past or future European Capitals of Culture. For example, I had the chance to go and discover Rijeka (read the article here) which at that time was one of the European Capitals of Culture 2020. Then, for obvious reasons, the event was postponed to 2021. On the previous trip before Lapland, during the experience in Scotland and Ireland, I had the opportunity to see the other capital that had been chosen for 2020: Galway (find out the article here).
On the trip to Lapland, however, in Estonia, I was in Tartu which will be in 2024 (find out the article here) and, in Finland, in Oulu which will be in 2026 (find out the article here).
