In this article I’ll tell you about the stop in Esch-sur-Alzette during the journey to discover Portugal and Luxembourg.

How to reach Esch-sur-Alzette?
After starting the trip to Portugal with stops in Faro (find out the article here), Albufeira (find out the article here), Portimão (find out the article here), Lagos (find out the article here) and Coimbra (find out the article here), I took a flight from Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto towards Luxembourg. From the arrival airport the bus and then the train to reach your destination.
First steps in the city
I started the itinerary in the city by stopping to admire the Église Sacré-Coeur (Church of the Sacred Heart).
Then I moved to the most central area of the city, that of the Theater and the Art Gallery. Not to mention the Hôtel De Ville, i.e. the town hall.
Details not to be overlooked…
In Luxembourg, public transport has recently been free (apart from special cases such as first class on trains).
Furthermore, it should be remembered that Esch-sur-Alzette has been nominated, together with Novi Sad (Serbia) and Kaunas (Lithuania), European Capital of Culture 2022 (find out the article here).
