Flight direction Alta from Kirkenes

After a short walk into the city, I took a taxi to the airport to take the flight direction Alta.

To start getting an idea of the places and views that I was able to admire, I invite you to watch the video below containing the most significant images of this experience.

How I reached Kirkenes airport

As already mentioned in the Kirkenes article, I took a taxi to get to the airport. Being a situation not dependent on my will, the cost of the taxi, of course, would have been reimbursed to me by the shipping company. The airport is approximately 15 km from the city center for a total transfer time of approximately 15 minutes. I remember that the taxi driver was super expert on the journey. Why?
She told me that in such a small city, taxis are often called to/from the airport :D

At Kirkenes airport for the flight direction Alta

Arrived there, it was as I expected. A small airport like that of Lego buildings :D
And the unexpected/controversy could not be missing. I was carrying a suitcase, a duffel bag and a backpack for the long journey and they wanted to make me pay for the duffel bag because in the re-routing the flight with only one baggage allowance was provided. How did it end? It was enough for me to explain that the fault could not be mine if the shipping company had to change port, I had arrived in Kirkenes with as much baggage as I wanted since 1 or 2 was not written in the cruise allowance. Even if you are not used to it, just read the contracts carefully ;)

A small plane for the flight direction Alta

There were very few people at boarding for the flight, most of them with the same “problem” as me. The plane (of the Widerøe company) was small, “strange” at first sight for those who have never seen/used a similar one.

I had already taken a small plane during the Berlin-Denmark-Latvia journey on the Riga-Liepaja route in Latvia.
Once we landed in Alta and completed the disembarkation procedures, we took the taxi that was waiting for us outside and took us to the MS Lofoten, the cruise ship that, from the next day, would accompany us on the journey to Bergen. (find out the article here)

Extra (not to be missed!)
