Like many, you may think that taking the bus is a very expensive travel/tourism/holiday option. And instead, I can surprise you. Browsing Flixbus’ periodic offers, you will realize that sometimes it is cheaper than you might think.
Some routes have prices starting from €1.99 per person. An example is the Padua-Bologna route and vice versa. Obviously it must be purchased in advance.
Other long direct routes such as from Venice or Milano to Barcelona or from Milano to Hamburg can cost €100 or more.
How did I manage to pay only €14.99 for a long direct route?

The answer is simple and there are no tricks 🙂
In December 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, the Flixbus company put open (i.e. without having to immediately decide on the route) non-personal tickets on sale, valid for 3 years. To be precise, they were not valid for the summer period (from 16/6 to 19/9 of each year).
I decided to buy quite a few, believing that tourism would restart soon despite the period the world was going through: I made a visionary investment 😛
