GAVETTA & EXPERIENCE: are the same thing?

In this article I will try to explain what is the big difference between gavetta & experience that is ignored or even unknown to most people.
What is it about? Read on and you’ll find out…

What is “gavetta” and what is it for?

It derives from the military world and is the metal container in which the soldiers found the meal to consume. Over time it has changed meaning and indicates military life at the lowest level.

What is experience and what is it for?

This term can be explained in several ways. One of these, for example, is the knowledge of a specific part of reality that occurred through direct contact with it.

Comparison between the two terms

In the world of work as well as in many aspects of everyday life, the two terms are often equated but this is not the case.
An example? As a reference reality I consider that of travel, strangely 🙂

Person A undertook only one trip to Venice (a city chosen at random as an example) while person B made numerous trips to many other Italian cities but never to Venice.
Person A, therefore, has the experience of traveling to Venice (among other things, only once!) but not the experience of traveling to Italy; person B has the experience of having traveled numerous times in Italy without direct experience in Venice but with many other diversified experiences.

What to choose between gavetta & experience?

On a future trip, is it better to choose person A with one (and only!) experience behind or person B with “gavetta”?
The difficult choice is yours 😛
