After a night trip by bus to reach Switzerland, I arrived in Geneva.
First time in Switzerland?
It is not the first time I have visited a Swiss city (I had already been to Zurich). I got off the bus, there was no time to waste as in the late afternoon I would have the next one in the direction of Lyon (find out the article here). However, I had time because I arrive in the city around 7 am. The bus to Lyon would leave shortly after 6 pm. Still a little sleepy from the night trip, I immediately set out to discover the city. Why this sudden decision? It was already clear that the weather would be mild and that the day could bring very interesting, almost author’s photographs.
On the shores of Lake Geneva
After crossing the Pont du Mont-Blanc, I immediately headed to the English garden (Jardin Anglais) to be able to photograph the Flower Clock (Horloge Fleurie). Since I had enough time available, I decided to approach the lake and head to the beach (Plage des Eaux-Vives) after seeing the lighthouse (Phare des Eaux-Vives) with its fountain of water jets (Jet d ‘eau)

Continuing through alleys and ups and downs, I came to the Cathedral area (Cathédrale Saint-Pierre Genève). Nearby, then, I found myself in Place du Bourg-de-Four where I decided to turn right and continue in the alleys to reach, with a circular path, the front of the cathedral. Stop for photos and leg stretching. Ready to leave and head to the University of Geneva area.
Why right there? The answer is simple: I wanted to see the well-known Wall of the Reformers (Mur des Réformateurs), an unmissable place for a photo of those passing through Geneva.
A broken chair can be art in Geneva
Since I was on a particularly good day for walking, I decided to go across the city to the area where the Palace of Nations (Palais des Nations) is located for a shot of the Broken Chair (Chaise cassée). And is it over from here? Absolutely not, it’s just the beginning :D
On foot to CERN in Geneva: madness?
Why? The answer is simple: I decided to go and see the Globe of Science and Innovation Museum at CERN.
Obviously on foot. To understand how far it is, in reaching the destination you also pass the airport area. Considering that only in this section I walked about 7/8 km to go, I can say that day I walked a lot :)
Memories in memory (not SD)
After the brief visit to the museum, I walked towards the bus terminal. After all this walking, some rest was a must while waiting for the bus to Lyon (find out the article here). At the beginning I wrote that the day could have brought very interesting photographic shots. Why the use of the conditional? The answer is simple: in Lyon the reflex’s SD memory no longer worked and therefore all the shots and footage of this stage have vanished.
