In this article I’ll tell you about the Halicarnassus stop during the journey to discover Greece and Turkey both with and without a cruise.

How to reach Bodrum?

After exploring the island of Aegina (Αίγινα) (find out the article here) and returning by ferry to Piraeus to take the train “From Athens to Kalambaka with Hellenic Train” (find out the article here), I reached Kalambaka (Καλαμπάκα) (find out the article here), the closest city to support the visit of the Meteora Monasteries (find out the article here). Subsequently I moved “From Kalambaka to Heraklion by bus and ferry” (find out the article here) to reach the island of Crete, more precisely, Heraklion (find out the article here) where I started the Costa Venezia cruise in Heraklion (find out the article here) before Costa Venezia arrived in Bodrum (find out the article here).

During the cruise stop in Bodrum I had the opportunity to take part in the excursion which also included an explanation of Halicarnassus.

What is it famous for in history? The answer is simple: it’s Mausoleum is considered one of the 7 wonders of the world 🙂
