Inverness: fourth stop of the journey towards Manchester, Scotland and Ireland (Northern and Eire)

Going further north, after more than three hours by bus and train (double means necessary because at that time there was work in progress on the Scottish railway line), I arrived in Inverness. In this stage, in addition to the city, I took the opportunity, thanks to two day trips, to see two unmissable and well-known places in Scotland: the Orkney Islands and the Isle of Skye (Inner Hebrides).

City Center and Inverness Castle
As in the Aberdeen stop, also here in Inverness I arrived at the hostel before check-in time. In this case, however, I decided to immediately go for a ride in the city. Why such a different choice from that of the previous stop? The answer is simple: I was already able to orient myself a little in the city having been there, previously, during the excursion to Loch Ness when I was working aboard Costa Cruises (port of Invergordon, Iceland cruise with Costa Fortuna in summer 2015). So I decided to go and refresh my travel memory in the area of the Cathedral and the Castle.
Orkney Islands
The first day excursion was the discovery of the Orkney Islands.
Isle of Skye (Inner Hebrides)
The second day excursion was the discovery of the Isle of Skye and its surroundings.
