Third stop of the “Discovering Cyprus” trip was Larnaca.

How to reach Larnaca?
From the previous stop, Nicosia (find out the article here), I took the bus to reach this other destination in Cyprus.
Larnaca Salt Lake
After settling into the hostel, I decided to immediately walk towards one of the main attractions of this city: what is it? I’m talking about the Larnaca Salt Lake.
The detail that cannot escape the first view of the map to organize the itinerary is that it is not located in the city but a little outside. Having traveled the main road that allows you to leave the city, I also reached the Salt Lake Path and, subsequently, the Hala Sultan Tekkesi (Χαλά Σουλτάν Τεκκέ), a historic mosque on the lake surrounded by a garden and an important Islamic pilgrimage destination.

On the way back to the city center I decided to head towards the beach. After passing the fish market area near Kastella beach and the representation of the Escaping People,
I reached Larnaca Castle (Κάστρο Λάρνακας) and the Greek Orthodox church of San Lazarus (Ιερός Ναός Αγίου Λαζάρου) which has the particularity of the gold-plated iconostasis.

To conclude the daily walk, I headed back out of the city to see the Kamares Aqueduct (Ιερός Ναός Αγίου Λαζάρου).
