Twelfth stop on the journey of “15 Places in 5 days” was Monselice.

How to reach Monselice?

I reached this destination directly by train from the previous day stage, namely Rovigo.

Leaving the station, I immediately headed towards the central area of this village. Leave Villa Pisani on the right

and crossed the bridge, I reached the Giardini di Argine Destro where I was able to admire a piece of the wall.

Clock Tower and entrance to Monselice

Continuing along the river, I entered the village passing through the Clock Tower and reaching the area where you can find the Palazzo and Loggetta Del Monte Di Pietà and the Sanpaolo Museum with its Botta Fountain.

It’s a museum but to me it almost looked like a church :D

Castello Cini and Pieve di Santa Giustina

At that point, since I didn’t have much time available, compatibly with the train schedule, I started the climb to be able to see the Cini Castle, Villa Nani-Mocenigo as well as the Pieve di Santa Giustina (Old Cathedral).

From there, in the distance I could also glimpse the Cathedral of Monselice.

But the churches, are they really seven?

Continuing the uphill stretch to reach Villa Duodo I was able to admire the Jubilee Sanctuary of the Seven Churches. Despite its name, in addition to the usual photos, I think it is normal for any visitor to count if they are really seven: D
Once at the villa, there were also the Oratory of San Giorgio and the Exedra of San Francesco Saverio.

Keep Federiciano in Monselice

Another noteworthy point from a tourist point of view is the Keep Federiciano and its fortress but they were closed. At that point, I resumed the way back to the train station.
