Second stop of the “Discovering Cyprus” trip was Nicosia.

How to reach Nicosia?
From the previous stop, Paphos (find out the article here), I crossed much of the island by bus and reached the capital.
First steps in the city
Starting the walk in the area of the Georgiou Griva Digeni bridge, I headed to photograph the Greek Orthodox church of San Spiridon (Εκκλησία Άγιου Σπυρίδωνα).

Continuing my walk in the Cypriot capital, I reached the Venetian Walls of Nicosia, buildings from the 16th century. Surrounded by different types of trees, it seemed like nature was protecting the walls and not the walls being a defensive fortification of what was around 😃
Entering the alleys I found myself in front of the Greek Orthodox church of Panagia Chrysaliniotissa (Παναγία Χρυσαλινιώτισσα), the Old Aqueduct and the Famagusta Gate.

The photographic walk continued with the sequence of shots that allowed me to immortalize, in order, the Cathedral of San Giovanni (Καθεδρικός Ναός Αγίου Ιωάννη), the Archbishop’s Palace (Αρχιεπισκοπή) and the Cathedral of Apostle Barnabas (Καθεδρικός Ναός Απόστολου Βαρνάβα).
Being in a big city, you couldn’t miss the stop in the main square: Eleftheria Square (Πλατεία Ελευθερίας).
