Before this new adventure, I undertook two other trips that I recommend you look into if you haven’t already done so 🙂

First moments on the island

Having arrived on a flight from Venice when it was now late afternoon, the walk from Santorini airport to Thira was at sunset 🙂
The following day I was able to capture this glimpse before the following two days brought less than great weather.

A walk to stretch your legs

After two days of not moving, it was time to walk around the island.
And so I began my more than 30 km walk that day starting from the central area of Thira where I was staying in the hostel.

The Heart of Santorini (to photograph)

After passing the area of Mesaria (Μεσαριά) and the junction for Órmos Athiniós (Όρμος Αθηνιός) I stopped at the first photographic attraction of the day: The Heart of Santorini, the famous heart of the island.
What is it about? You can see it very well in the next shot.

From the lighthouse to the beaches

The next stop was the Akrotiri lighthouse.

Small stop to take a breather before heading towards the beaches: the Black Beach, the White Beach and the Red Beach (Κόκκινη Παραλία). Being somewhat hidden places, even the walking wasn’t so easy. Especially the last beach after which I passed through the town of Akrotiri (Ακρωτήρι) before reaching that of Megalochori (Μεγαλοχώρι).
I picked up the pace because the weather on the horizon didn’t promise anything good as you can see in the next shot.

Other views of the island of Santorini (to photograph)

In the following days I decided to reach (always on foot) places that I had never managed to see during the seasons with Costa Cruises when I stopped in these parts.
This is Imerovigli (Ημεροβίγλι)

also in the Thira area, Pyrgos Kallistis (Πύργος Καλλίστης)

or Kamari beach (Παραλία Καμάρι)

passing through the Santorini Caldera area (Καλντέρα της Σαντορίνης).
