Introduction
After the Allianz Stadium, I was also planning to attend the away match in Cagliari to see the new stadium. And the schedule was a big help 🙂
Cagliari-Inter at the Unipol Domus
I arrived in Cagliari very early in the morning on a low-cost flight directly from Venice, and after walking around the salt flats near the Molentargius Natural Park, I went to enjoy the match that evening. Since the away section is only accessible to residents of Lombardy, I got a ticket for the home section and went in plain clothes wearing a South African national rugby jersey like any other tourist 😎
Alghero alternative solution
Since the match was on, flights from Cagliari to the north were sky-high, so to avoid missing the next Champions League home match, the solution was to take the return flight from Alghero to Venice and then, from the airport, a bus to Milan Lampugnano.
So, to save time on travel on a day like Sunday (and with less frequent public transportation!), we took a Blablacar from Cagliari to Sassari, strolled around the northern Sardinian city, and then took the bus to Alghero before the early-morning flight on Tuesday morning 🙂
