I dedicate this article to Tartu 2024. Chosen as European Capital of Culture for that year together with the Norwegian city of Bodø and the Austrian Bad Ischl.

When did I discover Tartu 2024?

During the trip to Lapland without flights, it was the first real stop in Estonia (find out the article here). I remember that I didn’t know about this particular event but, as soon as I arrived in the city, as I was heading towards the center I understood it immediately. From the next photo you can understand why :D

How to reach Tartu?

During the aforementioned trip to Lapland, I happened to arrive by bus from Pärnu (find out the article here). When I thought about the trip, other options were to arrive directly by bus from Tallinn or Narva, further stops in Estonia of the experience.

European Capitals of Culture

Also in that year, I had the opportunity to also go and discover Rijeka (find out the article here) which at that time was one of the European Capitals of Culture 2020. Then, for obvious reasons, the event was postponed to 2021. In the previous trip in Lapland, during the experience in Scotland and Ireland, I had the opportunity to see the other capital that had been chosen for 2020: Galway (find out the article here).
On the same trip, however, I went to Finland in Oulu which will be in 2026 (find out the article here).
