Introduction
While traveling to the Azores, I came across the opportunity to attend (at my own expense!) a training course to become a “Northern Lights Guide” in November, so I decided to sign up…
The “Northern Lights Guide” course: what’s it?
The course I attended: what is it? A detailed explanation is available in this article.
Inter-Milan: one of the selected matches
Given the requirement of eight appearances at San Siro to renew my season ticket for the following season, having reached six by the time I got to Tromsø, I decided to take flights to be there.
I took two flights down and a direct flight back up.
Days of waiting in Tromsø (also for the Northern Lights)
Back in Lapland, I awaited the Northern Lights’ response, and not just in terms of looking up…
Descending with luggage and this incredible scene from Tromsø and the Northern Lights
I had arrived in Tromsø with only the outbound flight, and during the week of the course, perhaps not coincidentally, flight deals came out and I found the first seasonal Easyjet flight to Milan Malpensa in early December for less than €30.
The incredible situation is that both nights before my walk to the airport were the two with the highest intensity of the Northern Lights (even visible to the naked eye and in the city). Even the night I arrived 😎
15 or 120: which would you choose?
Since December was peak season and a night in a hostel cost at least €120 a night, I decided to base myself in Copenhagen, where it cost a maximum of €15 and there are at least two direct flights daily to get back quickly if they called me.
Three flights for approximately €9.99 each
Given flight prices from mid-December onward from Copenhagen were more or less the same as elsewhere in Europe, I decided to head to Southern Europe and wait until the last minute.
Nothing would have changed, in any case…
From Copenhagen, flight to Gdansk; from Gdansk, flight to Bucharest; and from Bucharest, flight to Venice Treviso: just over €30 for three flights 😀
The journey continues…
Next trip is “SOUTHEASTERN SPAIN: a journey through tradition, nature, and beaches” (find out the article here).
