Mekong River

The first of the two experiences that I had the opportunity to have during my short stay in Vietnam was to reach the banks of the Mekong river and, from there, both to cross it with a kind of boat and to travel the internal courses with a typical boat of the place.

Imperial Huế

The other experience was the chance to visit the city of Huế, the ancient capital of Vietnam.

Together with the navigation on the river, I was able to get an idea of this Asian state that is so unknown on the one hand but also rapidly expanding from a tourist point of view.

How did I get to Vietnam?

I had this incredible opportunity while on board Costa Venezia during the inaugural cruise from Trieste to Tokyo. Before reaching the Japanese capital and (at the time!) leaving the ship at the Asian market, I also stopped here :)

Will I ever go to this place?

I have always liked geography and, therefore, I had already heard about this place and where it is located. But it’s one of those places that you think, “Will I ever go to this place?” And the answer is “Yes” :)
