The seventh stop on the journey of “15 Places in 5 days” was Vipiteno/Sterzing.

How to reach Vipiteno/Sterzing?

I reached this destination directly by train like the stages of the previous days. In fact, it would be better to use the term in the plural since more than one is used :)

Vipiteno or Sterzing?

In fact, they are the same thing. And why? The answer is simple: the first name is in Italian, the second in German. On the other hand, this is the area where the towns have two names :D

Tower of the Twelve (Zwölferturm) in Vipiteno/Sterzing

When I left the station, I walked along the road to my right and, in a few minutes, I reached the avenue that would have led me directly to the center of this village. Already in the distance I could see the Tower of the Twelve (Zwölferturm), perhaps the best known tourist attraction of this South Tyrolean place.

After passing the Santo Spirito Church, I continued the walk admiring the classic buildings and shops typical of these mountain resorts.

On the way back, however, I took a more external alley and walked in the area of the Church of Santa Margherita (Margarethenkirche), the Jöchlsthurn Palace and the Capuchin Convent (Kapuziner Kloster).
