How to reach Vulcano?
After the previous stop in Lipari (find out the article here), I reached this destination by hydrofoil.
Let’s say that the options on how to reach this Aeolian island were not that many 😛
Vulcano Island Oriented Nature Reserve
As soon as I landed on the island I decided to walk onto the main road and cross the island on foot. To my left stands the man who gave his name to this place and his solfataras in the background.
I continue the walk inside the Vulcano Island Oriented Nature Reserve until I reach the Parish of the Holy Guardian Angels.
Direction beaches and lighthouse
The walk continues towards the beaches: towards Spiaggia Punta dell’Asino and Spiaggia di Gelso. In the latter, the encounter with a bench could not be missed 😃
A little further on is the Church of the Madonna delle Grazie and the lighthouse.
Port of Levante and Ponente
On the way back, I had time to check out both Porto di Levante and Porto di Ponente. In particular, from the latter, I saw the Spiaggia delle Acque Calde and the Baia Negra from afar.
